Many people believe that the standard of education has become lower in recent years. In this essay I will discuss some possible reasons for this decline and suggest a few solutions to improve the situation.
There are several reasons why educational standards may have fallen. Firstly, classes in many schools are very big, so a teacher cannot give enough attention to every student. When there are forty students in one room, the weaker students are often left behind. Secondly, technology can be a distraction, because many young people spend too much time on their phones and games instead of studying. In addition, some people think that teachers are not paid well and do not have enough motivation, so the quality of teaching goes down. When a school also does not have enough books, computers or good classrooms, the students cannot learn in a good condition.
Fortunately, there are ways to improve the situation. One important solution is to reduce the number of students in each class, so teachers can help everybody. The government should also invest more money in education and increase teachers' salary, so that talented people want to become teachers. Furthermore, schools should teach students how to use technology in a useful way and control the time they spend on entertainment.
In conclusion, educational standards may have declined because of large classes, technology distractions and the low motivation of teachers. However, with smaller classes, better investment and a good use of technology, I believe the standards can be improved again in the future.
