In many parts of the world, more children and teenagers are committing crimes than before. This is a worrying problem for the society. In this essay I will explain some reasons for this situation and suggest what can be done about it.
There are several causes of youth crime. Firstly, many young people grow up in poor families, and when they do not have money or opportunities, some of them turn to crime to get what they want. Secondly, a lack of good parenting is another reason, because some parents are too busy or absent, so the children do not learn the difference between right and wrong. In addition, bad influences from friends or from violent films and games can also push young people to break the law.
However, there are ways to deal with this problem. The most important solution is education, because when young people stay in school and learn useful skills, they have better chances for the future and less reason to commit crime. The government should also create more activities like sport clubs and youth centres, so teenagers can spend their free time in a positive way. Parents and teachers need to give more attention and support to young people. If a teenager feels that somebody really cares about him, he is less likely to make bad choices.
In conclusion, youth crime is increasing because of poverty, weak parenting and bad influences. However, with better education, useful activities and more support from adults, I believe the society can reduce this problem and help young people to choose a better path.
