Education after school is becoming more and more important, and there is a debate about who should pay for it. Some people believe that university should be free for all students, while others think that students should pay a part of the cost themselves. This essay will discuss both sides and give my opinion.
On one hand, free university has some strong advantages. The most important one is fairness, because when there are no fees, a clever student from a poor family can also study and get a good career. This help the whole society, because the country will have more skilled workers such as nurses, teachers and engineers. Some countries already offer free university, and they have a very educated population. So many people see free education as a good investment for the future.
On the other hand, other people think students should pay a part. Running a university is very expensive, and if the government pay for everything, it must take the money from taxes. This is not completely fair, because people who never went to university also have to pay. When students pay some fees, they may also study harder because they do not want to waste their own money.
In my opinion, the best solution is a system where students pay a small fee, but poor students receive help like scholarships or cheap loans. In conclusion, both free and paid education have good and bad points, but the most important thing is that money should never stop a talented student from studying.
