These days, there is a lot of false information on the internet, so it is important that children learn how to know what is true and what is not. Some people believe that schools should teach this skill, but others think it is the job of the parents. I will discuss both views and give my own opinion.
On one side, teachers in schools can help students a lot. In the classroom, a teacher can show many example of fake news and explain how to check the sources. Because all children go to school, in this way everybody can learn the same skills, even if their family do not know much about technology. Teachers are also trained, so they can teach it in a good and organised way.
On the other side, some people think parents must take this responsibility. Parents spend a lot of time with their children at home, and they can watch what their kids are doing on the phone. When a child see something strange online, the parent can talk to them immediately. Also, parents know their own child, so they can give advice in a more personal way.
In my opinion, both parents and schools should work together. I think schools should teach the basic skills because it is fair for all students, but parents also need to support this at home. In conclusion, telling the difference between true and false information is very important skill today, and it is better when the school and the family both help the children to learn it.
