University education is very important for the future of young people and also for the country. Some people believe that it should be free for everyone, while others think that students should pay a part of the cost. This essay will discuss both opinions and give my view.
On one hand, there are good reasons to make university free. Education is a right, and if it is free, then the students from poor families can also go to the university. This is more fair for the society, because talented peoples can study even if they do not have money. Also, when a country has more educated people, the economy become stronger and there are more doctors, engineers and teachers. So free education is an investment for the future.
On the other hand, some people think students should pay a part. Universities are very expensive to run, and if everything is free, the government must spend a huge amount of money. This money comes from taxes, so even people who did not go to university have to pay for it. In addition, when students pay something, maybe they take their studies more serious and do not waste the opportunity. If education is completely free, some students may choose a course without thinking carefully about their future career.
In my opinion, students should pay a small part, but the government should help the poor students with scholarships or loans. In conclusion, both free education and paying have advantages, but a fair system is one that gives a chance to everybody, especially the students who do not have enough money.
