Band 6 model answer

These days, many people say that they cannot get enough sleep. This is a serious problem because sleep is very important for our body and our mind. In this essay I will explain the problems that lack of sleep can cause and suggest some solutions.

Lack of sleep can create many problems. Firstly, when people do not sleep enough, they feel tired during the day and they cannot concentrate well. This is dangerous, for example when they drive a car or operate a machine, because accidents can happen easily. Secondly, sleeping too little is bad for the health, and it can cause problems like stress, a weak immune system and even heart disease. In addition, tired people are often in a bad mood, so they may argue with their family or make mistakes at their work.

Fortunately, there are some solutions to this problem. The most important thing is that people should build a good routine and go to bed at the same time every night. They should also avoid using the phone or computer before sleeping, because the bright screen keeps the brain awake. Drinking less coffee in the evening can also help a lot. A short walk during the day and a quiet, dark bedroom can make sleep come more easily too. Companies and schools can help too, by not giving people too much work and stress.

In conclusion, lack of sleep causes many problems for health, safety and mood. However, if people improve their habits and reduce their stress, this problem can be controlled and people can live a healthier and happier life.
